"Each and every one of us can make a difference by taking a stand, one at a time -- taking a stand that hate, discrimination and violence will not be tolerated in our community. Hatred and violence don't appear out of nowhere; they emerge inch by inch out of a tolerance for tasteless jokes, demeaning comments, or pushing and shoving over trivia. Ultimate acts of hostility that damage the body or the soul can be stopped by each of us taking an active interest in each other," says Dennis Roberts, assistant vice president for student affairs.
