Liz Kadzo Kazungu

College Student Personnel

Personal: Liz graduated from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio, with an undergraduate degree in Communications.

Career goals: Before entering graduate school, Liz worked as a talk show host for Narobi's "Good Morning, Kenya" and as a news anchor for the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation. She also worked as an adviser for the American Educational Advising Center "Education USA" branch of the American Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya.

Career goals: Liz hopes to become an academic adviser and work with international students in their transition through college.

Practical application: Liz currently works with the Office of Admission, where she assists prospective students and parents with the college admission process via telephone and informational sessions. She also teaches a Career Exploration course twice a week and counsels students abou the career research process.

Fresh outlook: Through her graduate work, Liz has learned about the passion and drive needed in order to successfully advise students at the college level.

Learning Environment: "The faculty in the College Student Personnel [Program] consists of some of the most intelligent, patient, and hardworking professionals that I have worked with. Through the lens of leadership, culture, and development, I believe that the program continues to provide a great education for graduate students aspiring to work with students in higher education."
